Rear Admiral Kumara Senadheera honoured in farewell salute

Rear Admiral Kumara Senadheera today (02nd September 2020) bade farewell to his illustrious naval career which spanned over 28 years.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne along with Director Generals of the Navy extended best wishes to the retiring officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today. Thereupon, Rear Admiral Senadheera was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions. Subsequently, the fellow naval officers made their formal farewells to the outgoing senior officer in appreciation of his service rendered to the organization and he was sent off in a motorcade amidst the cheers of senior and junior sailors.

Rear Admiral Kumara Senadheera who joined the Sri Lanka Navy in 1992 served in the appointments of Command Civil Engineering Officer in Northern, Eastern and Western Naval Commands and held office as Deputy Director Naval Civil Engineering, Director Naval Civil Engineering as well as Director General Civil Engineering in his distinguished naval service.
