Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera takes over duties as Chief of Staff of the Navy
Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera was appointed as the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy with effect from 12th September 2020, by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Accordingly, the newly appointed Chief of Staff of the Navy officially assumed office, after a simple ceremony held giving prominence to religious rites, at the Navy Headquarters this morning (20th September 2020).
His beloved wife, Mrs. Chandani Athukorala, two daughters Chethani and Niruni Samaraweera and father were also present on this special occasion.
