Commander of the Navy commends fine virtue of naval person
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne recognized a fine virtue of Leading Seaman AGHS Udayakumara XS 100126 by awarding him a Letter of Commendation at the Naval Headquarters today (10th May 2021). Thus, the sailor was much admired for returning a wallet with money lying at the No 03 entrance of Colombo harbour on 27th April 2021, to its owner.
Leading Seaman AGHS Udayakumara XS 100126 who was on harbour security duties attached to SLNS Rangalla, had found this wallet with money, lying at the No. 03 entrance of Colombo harbour. Subsequently, the wallet and the money were handed over to its owner, upon informing relevant authorities in this regard.
Incidentally, Commander of the Navy heaped praise on this fine gesture of the sailor, for his honesty as he sets a good example for rest of the naval personnel as well as for furthering the Navy's repute while up-keeping the dignity of the noble service.
