Four storeyed multi-purpose building at Navy General Hospital declared open
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne declared open the newly built four storeyed multi-purpose building at Navy General Hospital, Welisara today (14th October 2021).
The four storeyed building was put up at the hospital premises with a view to expanding its infrastructure to offer more service. The first floor of the four-storey building is reserved for storage facilities, the second floor for the administration of the hospital, and the third and fourth floors for the training of naval nursing staff. Accordingly, the opening of this new four storeyed building will enable the training of naval nurses as well as to offer more services to the members of the Navy as well as their families through improved facilities.
The opening was held in compliance with COVID-19 protocols and the occasion was attended by Commander Western Naval Area and Commandant Volunteer Naval Force Rear Admiral Upul De Silva, senior officers attached to the Navy Headquarters and Welisara Naval Complex and a limited group of naval personnel.
