Navy renders assistance to conduct community health programme and clinic in Mollipothana

Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to conduct a community health programme and a clinic, organized by Primary Medical Care Unit (PMCU) – Mollipothana at the PMCU premises on 15th and 24th September as well as 15th October 2022.

The Navy threw its weight behind this social responsibility initiative following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and under the supervision of Commander Eastern Naval Area. Accordingly, the programme was successfully conducted in Mollipothana on 15th and 24th September and 15th October with the support of a team of medical personnel from the Command Naval Hospital (East). This social responsibility initiative saw about 521 individuals over 35 years of age in the locality being screened and educated as how to prevent non-communicable diseases.

In addition, 22 naval personnel from the Eastern Naval Command volunteered to donate blood, during a blood donation campaign organized by the blood bank of the District General Hospital Trincomalee, with a view to replenish of blood reserve at the blood bank.

Meanwhile, the Navy remains committed to lend its helping hands to similar endeavours carried out for the betterment of the public.
