Inter-ship/ craft ROR, Rigging, Semaphore and Flashing Competition - 2022 concludes successfully

The inter-ship / craft ROR, Rigging, Semaphore and Flashing Competition – 2022 organised by the Naval Fleet Command concluded successfully at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee on 05th January 2023.

The competition was held with the aim of developing the professional knowledge of the officers and sailors attached to the Naval Fleet Command and was held under 03 sections namely Fast Attack Craft (FAC), Minor Vessels and Major Vessels.

In the category of FAC, P 411 topped the rigging event and Lieutenant KND Dias of P 414 won the ROR event. Further, FAC Group 1 was first in Semaphore and Flashing. In the Minor Vessel category SLNS Ranagaja came first in the rigging event. In addition, Sub Lieutenant DS Imalka of A 543 and SLNS Ranawijaya won the ROR and Semaphore and Flashing events respectively. Also, SLNS Samudara, Lieutenant WHLC Wijerathna of SLNS Samudara and SLNS Shakthi won Rigging, ROR and Semaphore and Flashing events respectively in the Major Vessel category.

At the invitation of Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Rear Admiral Nishantha Amarosa, Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A group of officers and sailors were also present on this occasion to witness the essential skills of naval personnel.
