Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva assumes duties as Commander Western Naval Area
Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva assumed duties as Commander Western Naval Area at the Command Headquarters today (12th January 2023).
Due to the relinquishment of duties of Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara as Commander Western Naval Area to assume the command of the Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva was appointed as the new Commander of the Western Naval Area. Before taking over duties of the new appointment, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva was at the Northwestern Naval Command, discharging duties as Commander Northwestern Naval Area.
The incoming Commander was received at the Western Naval Command in compliance with naval traditions. Thereupon, he took over duties and responsibilities of the appointment at the Area Commander’s office.
