Academic excellence of SLN officers recognized by Nautical Institute – United Kingdom

The Sri Lanka Branch of the Nautical Institute United Kingdom has recognized the academic excellence of two (02) officers who excelled in courses offered by the Sri Lanka Navy. The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and the President of Sri Lanka Branch of the Nautical Institute, Commodore Ravindra Thisera presided over the certificate awarding ceremony held on 10th June 2023 at the Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka.

Starting in 2017, the Sri Lanka Branch of the Nautical Institute initiated the practice of presenting certificates and awards to naval officers who demonstrated outstanding academic achievements in courses held by the Sri Lanka Navy.

Accordingly, Lieutenant KDCV Ranasinghe and Lieutenant MATC Perera were recognized for their outstanding performances in Long Communication course 2022/2023, conducted at the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee.

Meanwhile, the Executive Committee Members of the Sri Lanka Branch of the Nautical Institute United Kingdom - Director General Personnel Rear Admiral Damian Fernando, Director General Administration Rear Admiral Nalindra Jayasinghe, Acting Director Naval Training, Captain Buddika Jayaweera (also the Secretary of Sri Lanka Branch of the Nautical Institute) and a group of officers representing the Sri Lanka Branch of the Nautical Institute were present on this occasion.
