UNODC organises Inshore Patrol Craft Handling Course for lady officers

The Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) organised a special Inshore Patrol Craft Handling Course for lady officers who are from various maritime law enforcement agencies. The programme commenced at the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee on 24th July 2023.

The objective of this training programme is to train and deploy lady officers ,including the ones who are serving in law enforcement agencies, for coastal and port security duties, especially targeting to counter illegal maritime activities.

Accordingly, arrangements have been made to conduct the theoretical and practical training of this four (04) week course at the Naval and Maritime Academy and Harbour Defence Unit in Trincomalee.

This course is being attended by 03 lady officers from Indonesian Marine Police Department, 03 lady officers from Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and 03 (01 lady officer and 02 women sailors) from the Sri Lanka Navy.
