INS Khanjar arrives at port of Trincomalee
The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Khanjar arrived at the Port of Trincomalee on a formal visit this morning (29th July 2023). The visiting ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions.
INS Khanjar is a 91m long Missile Corvette which is manned by a crew of 151. She is commanded by Commander NVS Phani Kumar.
During the ship’s stay, the crew will take part in several training programmes and sporting engagements organized by the Sri Lanka Navy, with a view to promoting cooperation and goodwill between two navies. They are also expected to go on a sightseeing excursion in the country.
At the end of her official visit, INS Khanjar is scheduled to leave the island on 31st July. During her departure, the ship is set to engage in a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with a Sri Lanka Navy ship off Trincomalee.
