Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine conducts medical camp and multidisciplinary social responsibility initiatives in Seruwawila
The Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine joining hands with the Lions Club of Sri Jayawardenepura-Kotte and Navy Seva Vanitha Unit held a medical camp and multidisciplinary social responsibility initiatives at the Mangala Raja Maha Vihara, Seruwila on 08th October 2023.
The initiatives were carried out following the wise counsel of the Chief Incumbent of Mangala Raja Maha Vihara, Most Ven. Aludeniye Subodha Thera and Ven. Bandarawela Muditha Thera. In this health camp, all arrangements had been made to conduct specialized clinics in outpatient treatment, pediatrics, eye, orthopedic, general surgery, general medicine, dental surgery, ENT, dermatology, and psychology. Furthermore, this medical camp also offered a range of services to the public, such as mobile laboratories for blood tests, legal counsel and assistance with banking and financial issues. In addition 25 low-income families in the area were provided dry ration and 50 pregnant women were provided products needed for newborn babies.
In conjunction with the Children’s Day (01st October), the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa handed over school supplies to the children of Neelapola Vidyalaya, Trincomalee. Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva, Director General Health Services, Surgeon Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe, Heads of Departments, Commanding Officers, a group of Air Force officers, officers from the Navy Medical and Dental branches, the President and members of Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine, medical and health professionals in Trincomalee, members of the Lions Club, many social activists including members of Sri Lankan Cares were also present.
