Inspector General of Police pays courtesy call on Commander of the Navy

The 36th Inspector General of Sri Lanka Police, Deshabandu Tennakoon called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (01st April 2024).

The visiting Inspector General of Police (IGP) was warmly received by the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Saman Perera at the portals of the Navy Headquarters. Subsequently, he was accorded a Guard of Honour in compliance with naval traditions, before the Commander of the Navy introduced the Board of Management of the Sri Lanka Navy to IGP.

The occasion turned out to be the maiden visit of Deshabandu Tennakoon to the Navy Headquarters in Colombo, after his ascension to the helm in the Sri Lanka Police, effective from 26th February 2024. After exchange of pleasantries, the two top brass held a cordial discussion where Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera expressed best wishes and all the success to Deshabandu Tennakoon for the execution of his entrusted duties.

The cordial meeting between them came to a close after an exchange of mementoes to signify the importance of this special occasion.
