Bomb Disposal Qualifying Course No. 05 successfully concludes in Maho
The Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Nalindra Jayasinghe today (22nd July 2024) presided over the insignia pinning and certificate awarding ceremony of the Bomb Disposal Qualifying Course conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy’s Bomb Disposal Training School in Maho.
The event saw 18 naval personnel were pinned with the Bomb Disposal Insignia and awarded with certificates for the successful completion of the Bomb Disposal Qualifying Course No. 05, held from 08th January to 22nd July 2024. After taking in to account the overall performances of course participants, Lieutenant WGS Deemantha was adjudged the Best Officer of the course. In addition, Able Seaman MKMGMD Senavirathna was adjudged the Best Sailor of the course. Meanwhile, Able Seaman RMSC Rajakaruna received the award for being selected as the ‘Best in Improvised Explosive Device’ (IED).
The Director General Training, Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage, Director Naval Infantry, Commodore Nishantha Ranaweera and a group of naval personnel from the Navy Headquarters and Northwestern Naval Command were present on the occasion.
