Annual Pooja of Ganadevi Kovil at Naval Dockyard Trincomalee marks a spiritual success
The annual Pooja of Ganadevi Kovil at the Naval Dockyard Trincomalee was successfully held on 07th and 08th September 2024. A colourful procession was also held with the statue of God Ganesh being paraded through the Naval Dockyard premises and Trincomalee town.
Demonstrating its commitment to fostering religious harmony in Trincomalee, the Navy organizes the annual Ganadevi Pooja and Perahera Festival.
This year’s Pooja was successfully conducted under the guidance of the Chief Priest at the Ganadevi Kovil within the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee. The ritual was held to invoke blessings for the entire Navy, including the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee.
A vibrant street procession featuring the statue of God Ganesh, accompanied by traditional Hindu cultural elements, took place within the Naval Dockyard premises. The procession then proceeded to the Ganadevi Kovil in Trincomalee town, culminating in the successful completion of the annual Ganadevi Pooja and Perahera Festival.
Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Damian Fernando, Deputy Area Commander Rear Admiral Varuna Ferdinanderz, officers and sailors from the Command and devotees in the area were present on these occasions.
