Community efforts shine with Navy-led cleaning programme at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School, Talaimannar

In continuation of its commitment to community, the Sri Lanka Navy undertook a clean-up programme at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School, Talaimannar on 08 Mar 25. The programme was conducted as part of the nationwide initiative to renovate schools under the “Clean Sri Lanka” project.

In a bid to foster more supportive teaching and learning environments in schools, the Navy consistently supports commendable initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure, through its social responsibility programmes.

The Sri Lanka Navy is a key partner of the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, aligning with the government's vision of "Beautiful Island, Smiling People." In line with this vision, the Navy is actively contributing to the nationwide effort to clean and renovate school premises, reinforcing its commitment to the initiative.

The programme at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School which aimed to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness while strengthening ties between the Navy and the local community was carried out under the supervision of Commander North Central Naval Area.
