Naval personnel donate blood to support life-saving causes
In a commendable display of Naval Social Responsibility, a blood donation drive organized by the Eastern Naval Command was held at the District General Hospital Trincomalee on 01 Apr 25.
Highlighting the enduring spirit of service and compassion, the Navy has been conducting an assortment of Naval Social Responsibility projects, at the directives of the Commander of the Navy. In parallel with these initiatives, this blood donation campaign was held under the supervision of Commander Eastern Naval Area. The prime motive of this magnanimous drive was to replenish blood stocks at the Blood Transfusion Centre of Trincomalee, following a request made by the District General Hospital Trincomalee.
A large group of naval personnel from the Eastern Naval Command volunteered to donate blood for this noble cause. The proceedings of the event were carried out with the assistance of medical staff of the Eastern Naval Command Hospital and Blood Bank staff of the Trincomalee General Hospital.
