In a display of maritime preparedness and environmental awareness, the Sri Lanka Navy on 30 Apr 25 successfully completed “Operation Lion Eye,” a full-scale riverine training exercise in the waters of the Negombo Lagoon.
The operation brought together elite naval units, including the Special Boat Squadron (SBS), Marines, Intelligence (INT) teams and personnel from the Doova sector of Negombo. Organized by the Western Naval Command, the riverine training exercise was designed to refine tactical skills and enhance operational readiness to combat illegal activities in waterways.
