Sri Lanka Navy participates in IMDEX Asia 2025 in Singapore
The International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2025, the premier naval and maritime defence event in the Asia-Pacific region, commenced on 06 May 2025 at Singapore’s Changi Exhibition Centre. The Sri Lanka Navy delegation, led by the Commander of the Navy, along with the crew of SLNS Samudura, attended the opening ceremony of the three-day exhibition. The team also participated in the International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC), a key segment of the event.
Renowned as a global hub for maritime defence innovation, IMDEX Asia 2025 showcases cutting-edge naval vessels, advanced maritime systems, and emerging technologies, bringing together key industry stakeholders.
IMDEX Asia – 2025 saw participation from representatives of 70 countries. Among the attendees were 22 high-ranking officials, including heads of naval forces, coast guards, and representatives from maritime law enforcement agencies. Contributing to the expert panel discussion of the IMSC held on 07 May, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy enlightened the dignitaries from all over the world on the importance of mutual corporation collaboration in pivotal time. In conclusion, he convinced the august gathering that “with clear purpose, deep understanding and strong commitment we secure the seas”. On the sidelines of the event, the Navy Chief met with several top brass of foreign naval forces and held cordial discussions.
Additionally, in IMDEX Asia 2025 warships from 13 countries will be participating and representing the Sri Lanka Navy, SLNS Samudura will take part in fleet exhibition and share many experiences.
