SLNS Samudura returns after successful IMDEX Asia deployment
SLNS Samudura which took part in the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2025, Asia Pacific's leading naval and maritime defence event from 06 to 08 in Changi, Singapore arrived the island today (15 May 25) on successful completion of the event. Upon her arrival, the Navy welcomed the ship in compliance with naval traditions at the Port of Colombo.
IMDEX Asia 2025 drew participants from 70 nations, including 22 senior officials such as naval chiefs, coast guard leaders, and maritime law enforcement representatives. At the International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC) on 07 May, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy highlighted the critical need for global collaboration during pivotal moments, sharing key insights with international dignitaries.
At IMDEX Asia 2025, twenty-two warships from 13 nations participated, with the crew of SLNS Samudura seizing the opportunity to explore state-of-the-art naval vessels, advanced maritime systems, and the latest technological innovations. The event served as a key platform for industry leaders and stakeholders to connect and exchange insights.
Attending IMDEX Asia 2025 enabled the Sri Lanka Navy to strengthen collaboration with regional naval and coast guard forces, exchange expertise on advanced maritime technologies, and gain insights into modern operational strategies and best practices.
