Commander of the Navy visits Special Boat Squadron Headquarters

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda on 18 May 25 paid a visit to the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) Headquarters in Trincomalee. During his visit, he also addressed SBS personnel, emphasizing the crucial role and responsibilities of the Sri Lanka Navy.

The Navy Chief touched down to a warm receipt by the Commanding Officer of SBS, with the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Commander of the Eastern Naval Area accompanying him on the visit.

In his address, the Navy Commander praised the Special Boat Squadron SBS for its professionalism and relentless dedication in upholding national security. He emphasized that the Navy expects nothing less than peak operational readiness from the elite unit, calling for continuous training, honed skills and unwavering commitment from every naval person.

An important highlight of the visit was the cordial interaction held with a group of foreign officers and sailors who are currently undergoing the Asymmetric Warfare Course at Special Boat Squadron Headquarters. As part of the visit he also assessed ongoing welfare and development initiatives underway at the SBS Headquarters.
