9th Presidential Induction Ceremony of Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine

Surgeon Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe was inducted as the 9th President of the Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM) in a ceremony held on 20 May 25 at the Wave n’ Lake Navy Hall in Welisara. The event was graced by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda as the Chief Guest, with Consultant Neurologist Dr. Harsha Gunasekara attending as the Guest of Honour.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier Primal Peris, before the dignified evening saw induction of Director General Health Services of the Navy, Surgeon Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe, as the 9th President of SLCOMM.

During the event, a special tribute was also held to recognize the honourary consultants for their steadfast support and dedicated service to the Sri Lanka Navy.

The proceedings of the ceremony drew to a close following the vote of thanks proposed by the Honorary Secretary of SLCOMM, Surgeon Commander Ashani Rathnakeerthi. Former Navy Commanders, Chief of Staff of the Navy, Tri-Service members of SLCOMM, along with other distinguished guests were also present on this occasion.
