NMA’s parade ground shines as new drill instructors take the spotlight
Upon successful completion of the 39th Drill Instructor Course, 05 junior sailors passed out at the main parade ground of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) on 29 May 25. The event was graced by the Commandant NMA, Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph, as the Chief Guest.
After 24 weeks of rigorous training, Leading Seaman WMASS Bandara emerged the top performer in the Drill Instructor Course, earning the prestigious Copper Chain and Whistle for the Best Drill Instructor from the Commandant NMA. Remainder of course participants, who successfully completed training were also presented with designated pace sticks and whistles as well.
A host of senior naval officers and sailors from the Naval and Maritime Academy and Eastern Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
