Commander of the Navy shares operational intent and insights during the visit to Southern Naval Command

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, embarked on an official visit to the Southern Naval Command on 15 Jun 25, reviewing operational readiness, administrative affairs as well as implementation of welfare measures at the naval establishment SLNS Kawantissa.

The Commander of the Navy, along with the Commander Southern Naval Area, first visited the Naval Detachment Amaduwa to review its surveillance and operational activities. Later, they proceeded to SLNS Kawantissa, where the Navy Chief examined operational, administrative, and welfare matters. Additionally, the Commander engaged in strategic discussion with senior officers in the area, emphasizing the command intent. The visit also served as an opportunity to assess security measures of key maritime infrastructures and to provide guidance on future strategic priorities.

The Commanding Officer SLNS Kawantissa and a group of naval personnel were present on this occasion.
