From scarcity to sustainability: RO plants established by Navy turn the tide

Taking a major stride in addressing the need for safe drinking water, three (03) Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants established by the Navy were declared open in Endagala, Galwaduwagama and Track 2 upper section in Thalawa, Anuradhapura on 26 Jun 25.

Implemented under the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) efforts, this project was initiated by the Ministry of Health, with funds made possible by the Presidential Secretariat. The NSR project has reached its 1,109th milestone with the inauguration of 03 new RO plants, bringing safe drinking water to communities in need.

With a daily purification capacity of approximately 10,000 liters each, the plants are set to provide safe drinking water to residents of respective villages. Aligned with the government's vision of ' A vigorous life - Healthy people’, the Navy is advancing its magnanimous NSR project to supply safe drinking water to communities deprived of such access.
