Nainativu Hospital upgraded with Navy-constructed OPD facility

The newly constructed Outpatient Department (OPD) building Regional Hospital in Nainathivu island Jaffna was officially opened to the public on 12 Jul 25, under the patronage of Hon. (Dr.) Nalinda Jayatissa, Minister of Health and Mass Media. The project was funded by the German Red Cross, with technical and industrial expertise made possible by the Sri Lankan Navy.

As part of Naval Social Responsibility initiatives, the Northern Naval Command oversaw the construction, ensuring timely completion of the project.

The Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, Hon. Ramalingam Chandrasekar, The Governor of the Northern Province, Hon. Nagalingam Vedanayagam, , members of parliament, officials from German Red Cross, Commander Northern Naval Area as well as a group of distinguished guests were present on this occasion.
