Clean Sri Lanka Cycling Rally 2025 – Navy joins the nations in the spirit of sport

Kicking off a wave of public interest in fitness and promoting a healthy lifestyle in Sri Lanka, the Sports Week was launched on 26 Jul 25 by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Department of Sports Development. Marking its launch, the Clean Sri Lanka Cycling Rally 2025 was successfully held on the same day as the opening phase of the campaign.

Promoting “A Vigorous Life Healthy People” concept of Clean Sri Lanka Policy, approximately 1,200 cycling enthusiasts participated in the cycling event flagged-off by the Minister of Sports, Hon. Sunil Kumara Gamage. The Sri Lanka Navy was also on two wheels promoting health, fitness and inspiring the public to embrace a healthier lifestyle as well as reflecting Navy’s sportsmanship and community engagement. Thus, the Sri Lanka Navy contributed to the success of the event, with over 85 naval cyclists taking part.

The cycling rally commenced at the Ministry of Sports, covered a 100-kilometer route before culminating at Independence Square. Moreover, all participants of the race received certificates of participation on completion of the event.
