Navy’s expertise powers another step towards safe water access

A new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, set up by the Sri Lanka Navy, was officially opened on 21 Aug 25 at the Halambawatawana National School in Chilaw. The project was made possible through the industrial expertise of the Sri Lanka Navy, with funding support from Sunshine Foundation for Good and Sunshine Holdings Pvt. Ltd.

The facility, which would provide clean drinking water to the local community, marked the 1,121st such plant established by the Navy across the country. This initiative reflects the Navy's dedication to community welfare beyond its maritime duties, reinforcing its efforts to provide sustainable water solutions to communities deprived of such access.
