VNF Training Camp underway

The Volunteer Naval Force (VNF) Annual Training Camp commenced at the VNF Headquarters in Welisara on 15 Sep 25. The event was graced by Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, Rear Admiral HNS Perera, at the invitation of Commanding Officer Volunteer Naval Force, Commander Anura Karunarathna.

This training camp is held annually to develop the professional skills and knowledge of officers and sailors belonging to the Volunteer Naval Force. This year, the camp boasts a participation of 543 naval personnel, including 50 officers and 493 senior and junior sailors.

The training camp will be in full swing until 02 October, concluding with a noteworthy event. On the final day, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda will inspect the VNF divisions and it will be followed by other proceedings in compliance with time-honoured naval traditions.

Commanding Officer SLNS Lanka, Commander Delanka Chandrasena, officers from the VNF Headquarters and SLNS Lanka, officers and sailors attending the VNF Annual Training Camp were also present at the opening event.
