Sri Lanka Navy Marines conquer mountains in “Ex-Highlander” endurance drill

The Sri Lanka Navy Marines successfully conducted the “Ex-Highlander” mountain endurance exercise from 12 to 14 Sep 25 at Haritha Kanda, Bopathtalawa in Nuwara Eliya.

“Ex–Highlander” was conducted with the aim of improving ground and terrain assessment skills, and gaining practical exposure to Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations in mountainous terrains.

The three-day exercise enhanced the knowledge, skills, and professional mindset of Marine personnel through a series of leadership and team-building activities, interactive sessions, and practical endurance challenges.

The exercise also saw participation of the Director Marine, Commodore Rohan Dissanayaka, Commanding Officer 1st Marine Battalion, Commander Weerathunga and a team of SLN Marines.
