Navy's Electrical Engineering veterans share insights with next generation

In an event that underscored the Sri Lanka Navy's enduring commitment to institutional knowledge and professional development, a special session with the former Director Generals of the Electrical & Electronic Engineering branch was held at the Western Naval Command Wardroom on 17 Sep 25.

The gathering, convened under the auspices of the Director General Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Rear Admiral Pradeep Karunathilake, was organized by the Electrical & Electronic Engineering branch to share acumens of those at the helm, with prospective officers in the branch.

The distinguished gathering of former officers provided invaluable insights drawn from their extensive careers, tracing the evolution of naval technology, addressing complex operational challenges and sharing pivotal leadership lessons. The event was also graced by the distinguished presence of Captain (L) ULR Perera (Retd), the first Commanding Officer of SLN Dockyard.

This forum offered a vital opportunity for the next generation of Electrical officers to engage directly with their predecessors of the field. Through cordial discussions and reflective dialogue, the former Director Generals imparted a wealth of knowledge and practical experience, for the continued excellence and legacy of the branch for years to come.
