12th Galle Dialogue Session 1 leads discussions on Marine Environment under Changing Dynamics

The first session of the 12th Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference, was held under the theme “Marine Environment under Changing Dynamics”. The session was moderated by Prof. Ronán Long, Director World Maritime University -Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute.

Aligned with the conference's overarching theme, ‘Maritime Outlook of the Indian Ocean under Changing Dynamics’, the forum facilitated a high-level and productive dialogue. The discussions provided valuable insights and actionable strategies to address key concerns for regional stakeholders.

In the session, Rear Admiral Brett Sonter Commander, Joint Agency Task Force Operation Sovereign Borders shed light on Enhancing Civil-Military Cooperation to Face Challenges in Preserving the Marine Environment. Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin, Commander Coastal Areas, Pakistan Navy talked about Adopting Forward-thinking Policies: Formulation of Actionable Strategies to Address Pressing Marine Environment Challenges through Regional and Extra-Regional Partnerships. Additionally, Commander Amila Prasanga and Wing Commander Gayan Bowatte presented a joint pater on Marine Environmental Protection in Sri Lanka: Strengthening Naval, Air Force, and Coast Guard Joint Operations.
