“Maritime Sustainability under Changing Dynamics” becomes the spotlight at Galle Dialogue’s Session 4
The fourth session of the 12th Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference was conducted under the theme “Maritime Sustainability under Changing Dynamics”. The session was moderated by Dr. David Brewster from the Australian National University.
Anchored to its central theme, ‘Maritime Outlook of the Indian Ocean under Changing Dynamics’, the session facilitated purposeful dialogue, offering stakeholders valuable perspectives and forward-looking strategies on pressing maritime concerns.
The session brought together Vice Admiral Anil K. Chawla (Retd), former Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Navy; Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area Commodore Buddika Jayaweera and Captain Wade Turvold (Retd), Dean of Admissions and Business Operations at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies. Their deliberations focused on Maritime Diplomacy and Security Concerns in the Region: Challenges and Opportunities for Small Nations, Role of Sri Lanka Navy in Securing Maritime Crimes and Illegal Affairs Taking Place in the Region and beyond and Strategic Maritime Environment and the Need to Have All-Domain Awareness in the Indo-Pacific.
