Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara assumes command as Commandant VNF
Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara, newly appointed as the Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, assumed duties of the appointment on 03 Oct 25 at the Volunteer Naval Force (VNF) Headquarters, Welisara.
The incoming Commandant VNF was received at the Volunteer Naval Force Headquarters in accordance with time-honoured naval traditions. Thereupon, his predecessor, Rear Admiral HNS Perera, formally handed over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment to Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara.
After senior officers congratulated the outgoing Commandant appreciative of his service, the VNF Headquarters bade him customary farewell in compliance with naval traditions. Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara will continue to discharge duties as Commander Western Naval Area, in addition to his role as Commandant Volunteer Naval Force.
