Navy-built RO plats quench thrust of communities

Three (03) new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, set up by the Sri Lanka Navy, were officially opened on 14, 17 and 18 Oct 25 at Morawewa North Sinhala Vidyalaya in Trincomalee, Diwulwewa Vidyalaya, Nachchaduwa in Anuradhapura and in the village of Pesalei in Mannar.

The projects were made possible through the industrial expertise of the Sri Lanka Navy, with initiatives of the Ministry of Health. The funding support for these magnanimous projects were extended by the Presidential Secretariat, proprietor of Oasis Plant and Seeds Exporters under Gammedda CSR initiative and Mr. P Sivendra, retired Chartered Accountant and his wife.

The facilities, which would provide clean drinking water to the children of schools and local community, marked the 1,135th landmark of such plants established by the Navy across the country.

Aligned with the government’s Clean Sri Lanka drive, the Navy remains committed to ensuring access to safe drinking water for communities.
