Next generation of officers hone professionalism for future assignments
The General Certificate Awarding Ceremony of 37th Junior Naval Staff Course (JNSC) and 23rd Sub Lieutenant Technical Course (Provost/ Infantry) was held at the Auditorium of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), Trincomalee, on 23 Oct 25. The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, at the invitation of the Commandant NMA, Commodore Dinesh Bandara.
The achievements of officers were recognized at the certificate awarding ceremony for two key training courses. At the ceremony for the 37th JNSC, the following officers were recognized for their exceptional performance:
• First in Overall Order of Merit and Best Public Speaker - Lieutenant Commander (C) WAPK Walagarachchi
• Best Commandant's Service Paper – Lieutenant Commander MD Mehedi Masud of the Bangladesh Navy
• Highest Aggregate in Academic Subjects - Lieutenant Commander (H) KSP Perera
• Most Inspirational Officer - Lieutenant Commander (N) RPSS Jayasinghe
During the ceremony for 23rd Sub-Lieutenant Technical Course, following accolades were presented:
• First in Overall Order of Merit and Best Public Speaker – Sub Lieutenant (INF) AMSD Dissanayake
• Best Essay - Lieutenant (INF) MDTP Peiris
• Highest Aggregate in Infantry Subjects - Lieutenant (INF) AMED Senevirathna
• Highest Aggregate in Provost Subjects – Sub Lieutenant (PRO) MUS Kumara
The Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Ravindra Tissera, officers from the Eastern Naval Area and sister services, Directing Staffs of JNSC and Sub Lieutenant Technical Course as well as family members of the student officers were present on this occasion.
