Navy extends support for annual Katina Pinkama ceremony of Rathana Sadaham Meditation Centre, Kithulkote
The annual Katina Pinkama ceremony at the Rathana Sadaham Meditation Centre in Kithulkote, Thanamalwila, was held on 25 and 26 Oct 25, with the contribution of Sri Lanka Navy and Naval Buddhist Association.
The religious proceedings commenced on 25 October with a vibrant procession carrying the sacred Katina robe to the Rathana Sadaham Meditation Centre. Following the procession, a Bodhi Puja and an all-night Pirith chanting ceremony were held, invoking blessings. The following day, alms were offered to monks and nuns taken part in the religious rituals.
The Commander of the Navy along with senior officers from the Navy Headquarters, officers of the Naval Buddhist Association, naval personnel from the Southern Naval Command and devotees from the area attended in these spiritual events.
