Indian Naval Ships arrive in Sri Lanka with humanitarian aid
In a demonstration of enduring maritime partnership and humanitarian commitment, the Indian Navy has delivered substantial relief materials to communities in Sri Lanka impacted by recent adverse weather conditions.
The aircraft carrier INS VIKRANT and INS UDAYGIRI, which were in Sri Lanka to participate in the International Fleet Review (IFR), commenced the mission by delivering the first tranche of relief supplies on 28 Nov 25.
Moreover, INS SUKANYA arrived in Sri Lanka on 01 Dec 25, carrying a significant consignment of relief materials for affected communities. The deployment was coordinated by the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka. The Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Ravindra Tissera and a group of government officials were present on this occasion.
