Navy's relief mission helps communities to rebuild lives
In the wake of recent severe weather, the Sri Lanka Navy has worked out a comprehensive, island-wide programme for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), delivering essential services to affected communities.
As such, the Navy rendered assistance in cleaning the Aththanagoda Vidyalaya in Chilaw, Pahathgama Roman Catholic College in Hanwella, Abhinawaramaya and Bus Stand in Kaduwela. Apart from that, naval personnel rendered assistance to arrange dry ration packets at the Divisional Secretariats of Kandy and Thalathuoya and cleaning drinking water wells in the Naththandiya area, on 03 Dec 25.
Moreover, the Navy provided essential aid to flood-affected communities by operating mobile kitchens in Meethotamulla, Anuradhapura, and Arachchikattuwa, and by enabling safe drinking water with mobile RO plants in Theldeniya, Kandy on 03 December.
