Religious rituals held at Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in view of 75th anniversary of Navy
Marking the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, an alms giving was held at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy today (09 Dec 25). In addition, a Gilanpasa Buddha Puja ritual was also held at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic premises on 08 December.
On behalf of the Commander of the Navy, the Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Damien Fernando paid his obeisance to the Mahanayake Theros of Malwatta and Asgiri Chapters and received their blessings. Following that, Gilanpasa Puja and Alms Giving rituals were performed with pious sentiments.
During these events at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, members of Maha Sangha transferred merits on fallen naval war veterans and blessings were invoked on serving and retired naval personnel and their family members, on the occasion of 75th anniversary of the Navy.
