ICGS SHAURYA arrives in Sri Lanka with humanitarian aid
The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) SHAURYA, carrying humanitarian aid to the people of Sri Lanka affected by Cyclone Ditwah, arrived in the island on 15 Dec 25. The ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Coast Guard at the Colombo Port in accordance with naval traditions.
The handover of humanitarian aid was coordinated by the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka. The occasion was attended by the Deputy High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, the Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Hon. Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku, the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara, the Commanding Officer ICGS SHAURYA, Deputy Inspector General Arun Singh and a group of officials.
Meanwhile, the Commander Western Naval Area and Commanding Officer ICGS SHAURYA held a cordial discussion at the Western Naval Command Headquarters which drew to a close with an exchange of mementoes.
