Rear Admiral Sujeewa Weerasuriya assumes command as Commandant VNF

Rear Admiral Sujeewa Weerasuriya, newly appointed as the Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, assumed duties of the appointment on 18 Dec 25 at the Volunteer Naval Force (VNF) Headquarters, Welisara.

The incoming Commandant VNF was received at the Volunteer Naval Force Headquarters in accordance with time-honoured naval traditions. Thereupon, his predecessor, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara, formally handed over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment to Rear Admiral Sujeewa Weerasuriya.

After senior officers congratulated the outgoing Commandant appreciative of his service, the VNF Headquarters bade him customary farewell in compliance with naval traditions.
