Rear Admiral Dammika Wijewardana assumes duties as Commander Southern Naval Area

Rear Admiral Dammika Wijewardana who was newly appointed as Commander Southern Naval Area, assumed duties at the Command Headquarters on 29th December 2025.

The incoming Commander was received at the Southern Naval Command in compliance with naval traditions. Thereafter, Rear Admiral Kosala Warnakulasooriya, previous Commander Southern Naval Area, formally handed over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment to Rear Admiral Dammika Wijewardana.
