Naval Social Responsibility mission flows on: 03 new RO plants to serve schools and communities
As part of its commitment towards enhancing public health and community welfare, 04 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, set up by the Sri Lanka Navy, were declared open for community use on 29 and 30 Dec 25. The facilities were made available in the Divisional Secretariat of Mahiyangana in Badulla and Ambanpola, Galgamuwa and Bingiriya Divisional Secretariats in Kurunegala.
These vital projects were realised under the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, leveraging the technical expertise and manpower of the Navy, with initiatives by the Ministry of Health and financial sponsorship by the Presidential Secretariat.
Thus, the facilities were established at Henry Olcott Junior School in Kurunegala, Kurundankulam village in Galgamuwa, Manelembuwa Sri Sarananda Maha Vidyalaya in Bingiriya and Theldeniyaya Primary School in Mahiyangana.
Moreover, this magnanimous project of the Navy reached its 1145 milestone with the opening of the 04 new facilities. Aligned with the government's vision of ' A vigorous life - Healthy people’, the Navy is advancing its magnanimous NSR project to supply safe drinking water to communities deprived of such access.
