Navy’s expertise powers another step towards safe water access in Wariyapola and Kahatagasdigiliya
Two (02) new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, set up by the Sri Lanka Navy, were officially opened on 24 and 25 Feb 26 at the village of Bayawa in Wariyapola and Gonumaruwewa in Kahatagasdigiliya.
The projects were made possible through the industrial expertise of the Sri Lanka Navy and initiatives of the Ministry of Health, with funding support from Lion Nation Foundation (Guarantee) Limited and the Presidential Secretariat. The facilities, which would provide clean drinking water to the local community, marked the 1,151st landmark of such plants established by the Navy across the country.
These initiatives reflect the Navy's dedication to community welfare beyond its maritime duties, reinforcing its efforts to provide sustainable water solutions to communities deprived of such access.
Aligned with the government’s Clean Sri Lanka drive, the Navy remains committed to ensuring access to safe drinking water for communities.
