Navy provides vital support to treat injured wild elephant
The Sri Lanka Navy extended essential assistance to the Department of Wildlife Conservation to treat an injured wild elephant on 10 Mar 26. The elephant, which had sustained gunshot wounds, was discovered roaming within the premises of SLNS Mahanaga in Panama.
Upon spotting the distressed animal within the naval base perimeters, naval personnel promptly notified the Ampara Department of Wildlife Conservation office. Following that, the Navy provided necessary support to the wildlife medical team, ensuring they could administer the required treatment to the elephant.
