‘INS TARANGINI’ concludes official training visit to Sri Lanka
The Indian Navy’s sail training ship, INS TARANGINI, departed the island on 09 Mar 26, marking the successful completion of her official training visit. The ship was accorded a formal farewell by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions at the Port of Colombo.
The ship’s visit was structured in two phases, beginning with her arrival at the Port of Trincomalee on 27 February. Following a series of professional and training engagements in the Eastern Naval Command, the ship arrived at the Port of Colombo on 06 March, for more professional training, diplomatic engagements and joint activities.
Accordingly, personnel from both navies engaged in various collaborative initiatives, including: coastal cleanup drives, joint yoga sessions and goodwill programmes designed to strengthen the camaraderie.
Such official visits are vital for the exchange of best practices in the maritime fraternity and this continued cooperation and synergy are essential to address emerging trends within the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
