‘Balance Style – 2026’ sets standard for joint exchange training
The ‘Balance Style – 2026’ Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) course, conducted jointly by the Sri Lanka Navy and the United States Army Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (SFOD A), was concluded on 26 Mar 26, at the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) Headquarters in Trincomalee. The certificate awarding ceremony was held under the patronage of Rear Admiral Kosala Warnakulasooriya, the Commander Eastern Naval Area.
The training programme commenced on 23 February, at the SBS Headquarters and a total of 36 naval personnel from the Sri Lanka Navy participated, including 24 personnel attached to the Special Boat Squadron and 12 personnel attached to the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla.
During the course, a range of exercises were conducted, including modules on Human Rights, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Close Quarter Battle, Reconnaissance, Riverine and Small Drones and Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (S-UAS).
The event was also attended by the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, the Commanding Officers of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla and the Special Boat Squadron, and members of the US Army SFOD A, among others.
