Sri Lanka & Indian Navy divers swap expertise in ‘IN-SLN DIVEX 2026’

The training partnership between the Sri Lanka Navy and the Indian Navy reached a new high-water mark with the successful completion of the joint diving exercise, ‘IN-SLN DIVEX 2026’. Held from 21 to 28 Apr 26, this collaborative initiative served as a vital opportunity for fostering the exchange of professional expertise between the two naval forces.

A group professional divers from the Sri Lanka Navy joined hands with a diving team from the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Nireekshak, arrived in Sri Lanka on 21 April, for the week-long engagement conducted off the coast of Colombo. The focus of the exercise was the mastery of advanced Mixed Gas Diving techniques using Nitrox, a specialized breathing medium.

Furthermore, the exercise proved beneficial for the diving professionals of both navies, offering valuable exposure to modern diving facilities and shared learning and capability enhancement.
