Sri Lanka Navy sharpens edge in asymmetric warfare
Strengthening its role in advanced maritime operations training, the Sri Lanka Navy commenced the 10th Asymmetric Warfare Course (AWC) at the Special Boat Squadron Training School (SBSTS), Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee, on 04 May 26. The opening ceremony was attended by the Commanding Officer Special Boat Squadron, Commander Lakmal Weerakkody.
Scheduled to be conducted over a period of 10 weeks, the course will see the participation of twenty-four (24) trainees representing the People's Republic of China, India, Pakistan, and the Sri Lanka Navy. The curriculum includes a range of theoretical and practical activities related to asymmetric maritime operations.
By conducting programmes of this nature, the Sri Lanka Navy continues to promote professional engagement with regional partners while strengthening its own operational capabilities.
