Navy’s blood donation offers lifesaving hope to the community

Demonstrating its commitment to community welfare, the Sri Lanka Navy organized a blood donation campaign at the North Central Naval Command Hospital on 19 May 26.

This noble Naval Social Responsibility initiative was launched following a notion of the Commander of the Navy and under the guidance of the Commander North Central Naval Area.

Held in commemoration of both National War Heroes’ Day Commemoration and the sacred Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, the drive was carried out in close coordination with the blood banks of the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital and the Vavuniya District Hospital.

A large number of naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command stepped forward voluntarily, donating blood to ensure the resounding success of this humanitarian cause.
